This session equips HR leaders, in-house counsel, and compliance professionals with a practical framework to identify, assess, and mitigate employment-law risks associated with workplace AI. Participants will learn how to inventory AI use cases across the employee lifecycle, map them to key legal obligations, and implement a repeatable risk assessment process that supports lawful, fair, and transparent AI adoption.

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to recognize high-risk AI features (such as automated decision-making, monitoring, and biometrics), connect them to employment law requirements, and apply governance, policy, training, vendor management, and monitoring controls. Participants will leave with ready-to-use tools, including a workplace AI risk assessment checklist, a use-case inventory template, a vendor due diligence questionnaire, sample policy language, and a governance workflow.

What makes this session unique is its tool-first, implementation-focused approach led by a practicing labor and employment attorney. Rather than high-level commentary, it delivers a step-by-step, legally grounded framework tested in real workplace settings, using practical hypotheticals and case studies to bridge HR, Legal, IT, and compliance functions.
